Galanthus x valentinei 'Elena Lucy' is a wonderful and beautiful new yellow snowdrop from Lucy Tyler in Cheshire. Last season was the first offering of this bulb and I am selling it and dispatching it on her behalf. It has been tried and tested in numerous gardens across the UK, including mine, and has shown excellent vigour, robustness and garden-worthiness.
'Elena Lucy' is a short snowdrop with a large flower which sits beautifully above its foliage. It looks wonderful in a clump.
Lucy is a friend of mine and I have visited her garden on numerous occasions. She has a great passion for snowdrops as well as many other plants and has been trying her hand at breeding snowdrops for many years with numerous successes.
'Elena Lucy' is named for her granddaughter who lives in San Francisco, USA, and is the first snowdrop Lucy has named. She has many other wonderful plants under observation. You can read more about Lucy's breeding in an article she wrote last year. It is published here, in my 'Blogs' section...
