Every snowdrop season I head off to a handful of sales and events around the country, and they're some of my favourite days of the whole year. There's nothing quite like seeing so many wonderful plants in one place, and catching up with old friends and new ones who share the same love of snowdrops.

Cheshire Snowdrop Day
Saturday 23rd January 2027 St Bertoline's Church and Village Hall, Barthomley, Cheshire
This is our very own snowdrop day, which I'm organising with my friends Lucy Tyler and Razvan Chisu. We'll have talks from Joe Sharman and Michael Myers, lots of snowdrops and other plants of winter interest for sale, and refreshments are included in the ticket price. We really hope it gives those of us who live a little further north a lovely day to look forward to.
The Ultimate Snowdrop Sale, Myddelton House Gardens
Saturday 30th January 2027 Myddelton House Gardens, Bulls Cross, Enfield, EN2 9HG
Myddelton House was the lifelong home of the great plantsman E.A. Bowles (who gave his name to the beautiful Galanthus plicatus'E.A. Bowles'), so there's something very special about starting the season with a snowdrop sale in his garden. The sale is held outdoors in the garden's secure back yard, and the garden itself is free to wander round, with plenty of snowdrops to enjoy. The Bowles Tea Room will be open, and the garden is also planning a lecture in the afternoon.
Entry: £4 to the plant sale area. The garden is free

AGS Snowdrop Day, Colwall
Saturday 6th February 2027 Colwall Village Hall and The Picton Garden, Colwall, near Malvern
The Alpine Garden Society's snowdrop day is doing things a little differently this year, and it sounds wonderful. The morning is at Colwall Village Hall, with talks from Bob and Rannveig Wallis and Paddy Tobin, plant sales and a buffet lunch. In the afternoon we move about a mile down the road to Helen Picton's garden at Old Court Nurseries, home to a National Collection of snowdrops named by Phil Cornish, for more plant sales, plus tea and cake.

Snowdrops and Spring Flowers, East Ruston Old Vicarage
Sunday 7th February 2027 East Ruston Old Vicarage, East Ruston, Norwich, Norfolk, NR12 9HN
East Ruston is one of the most extraordinary gardens in the country, and it's a real treat to be there in February. The plant sale area is just inside the private gateway to the house, sheltered and on firm gravel, so it's a comfortable one whatever the weather. Teas, lunches and the garden itself are all provided by East Ruston.
