Galanthus nivalis 'Doddington' is one of my very favourite snowdrops, and I absolutely love it.  I believe it's named after Doddington Place Gardens in Kent, and that it belongs to the G. nivalis Sandersii Group of yellow snowdrops.  It has a rich, golden-yellow ovary which glows against the pure white outer segments, and I believe the yellow tinge extends to the pedicel and stem too.

The flowers are nicely rounded, and the inner segments carry a neat yellow mark at the apex; look closely and you'll see they're finely lined, adding a lovely delicate detail.  It's a graceful plant with slender, upright leaves.  A real gem, which flowers here in the North West from late January into early February.

Some of the background here comes from Freda Cox's book, A Gardener's Guide to Snowdrops.  I've included it in good faith, but please treat it as a helpful guide rather than gospel.
