Galanthus 'Across The Road'

Galanthus ‘Across The Road’ - An extremely nice Trym-type snowdrop.  It was found ‘Across the Road’ from Avon Bulbs by one of, if not the, most inspiring and well-known modern galanthophile, the late Alan Street.  Hence the name.  I originally bought this plant directly from Alan at the Salisbury snowdrop sale a few years ago and that’s what he told me when I bought it – I don’t think any more is really known about this snowdrop.  For me, it increases really well, is a very attractive plant and does excellently in the garden here.  I unfortunately only met Alan Street that once and it was a very brief chat about cultivation etc.  I do really wish I could have met him again.  But for that reason, despite Alan’s numerous and excellent other introductions over the years, this snowdrop will always hold a very special place in my collection.
