It's a double-marked Trym-type (or pterugiform), with wonderful double-marked outer segments. It flowers here in the North West from late January to early February.

Colin gardened on Fieldgate Lane in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, and named many of his snowdrops after pieces of classical music, which he loved. A fantasia is a piece of music written freely from the composer's imagination, rather than following a set form.

Colin's snowdrops were open-pollinated, with the bees doing the crossing. In her tribute to Colin, Olive Mason recalled that he learned to twin-scale from Ronald Mackenzie, and became so good at it that he could supply John Morley with bulbs to sell. That skill has helped so many good snowdrops find their way into our gardens.

After Colin died at the end of 2019, his daughter Sophie gave his collection, mostly his own Fieldgate hybrids, to The Garden House in Devon. It was moved there in February 2020 and planted out just as the first lockdown began. 'Fieldgate Fantasia' is still very hard to come by, and it's a real privilege to be able to offer it.

Sources
Some of the background here comes from Freda Cox, A Gardener's Guide to Snowdrops, Olive Mason, 'Colin Mason (1927 – 30th December 2019)' (HPS Galanthus Group newsletter, Spring 2020), Pat Eaton, 'The Garden House inherits Colin Mason's Galanthus collection' (HPS Galanthus Group newsletter, Autumn 2020) and Fantasia (music) (Wikipedia).
